Al’s D&I Auto Repair opened its doors in 1977, stepping into the Rapid City automotive scene with a forward-thinking mindset, welcoming import vehicles at a time when most shops wouldn’t. Back then, imports were often seen as too complicated or unfamiliar, but we saw an opportunity to learn. Founded by Al Eslinger, the shop quickly became a trusted neighborhood fixture, known not only for expertise but for treating customers like family. From the start, we’ve stayed ahead of the curve by choosing to embrace what’s next in the automotive industry. That early commitment to learning and innovation gave us a leg up as the industry evolved—and it still drives us today.
